Chris Edgar DipPFS,

Independent Financial Adviser

Chris.Edgar@carterdawes.com

Joined CarterDawes January 2010, qualified June 2005

I enjoy helping my clients (Corporate, individuals or trustees) achieve a variety of goals. These range from simply maximising income to more complicated requirements such as planning to mitigate or eliminate inheritance tax and planning for retirement. The most important element is always the same: taking the time to get to know my clients and fully understand their requirements and restrictions.

Building long term relationships with my clients is critical as it means I can give appropriate advice to them as they move through life and their needs change.

Prior to becoming a financial adviser I qualified as a metallurgist and worked in Portsmouth for a couple of years, before returning to help my parents on the family farm in Zimbabwe due to my father’s ill health. The rest is history now. However this experience has made me acutely aware that life rarely goes to plan and gives me a pragmatic perspective when working with my clients.

Continuing professional development is important to me and I am now working towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner. I am a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Professional Finance Society.

When I am not at CarterDawes, I enjoy spending time with my family and now that they (my children) are out of nappies, I have recently taken up squash again.

I look forward to meeting you and being of service.
